Transmitter BC-640 is a VHF ground-to-air transmitter used in the later stages of the Second World War.

The equipment was normally used with the matching tuneable VHF receiver BC-639.

The equipment was donated to DRS by Dr. Graham Winbolt, along with a matching BC-639 receiver.

To date the equipment has had a light clean and the olive drab front panel paint has been stabilised by a light application of oil.

More work is required on the individual rack-mount modules.
